Phish is currently in the midst of their 2018 summer tour, coming off a one-off performance in Austin, TX last night. Today, the band continued their steady release of videos from the tour, sharing pro-shot footage of their 17-minute “Fuego” jam from their second of two shows at The Forum in Los Angeles this past Saturday night.
The L.A. “Fuego” started out straightforward with its ambitious structure and playful lyric,s but was eventually steered in an entirely—and incredibly—different direction. During the second set highlight jam, the normally rocking “Fuego” contained softer psychedelic elements. Think “Norwegian Wood” meets “The Squirming Coil”. The L.A. faithful was treated to something special, as the titular track from the band’s 2014 album went from a massive roar to a bed of gorgeous glowing embers, keeping the entire room comfortably warm throughout the duration of this showcase of delicate, full-band cohesion.
