Last night, Phish kicked off a three-night run at Hollywood Bowl, the final stop on the band’s whirlwind West Coast spring tour.
After a series of standout performances in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco, Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Page McConnell once again hit the ground jamming, starting out with a monster “46 Days” just as they had in Portland, though this version was slightly more tame than that psychedelic sojourn, clocking in at just under ten minutes. Still, the intensity was there, setting the tone for another stellar weekend.
Phish – “46 Days” – 4/25/25
A rambunctious “Rift” kept things moving at a fast pace with a flurry of cowbell action from Fishman. After five shows with no repeats, “Rift” would turn out to be one of only three songs not already played on the tour.
The foursome was fully locked in for a pairing ofr “The Moma Dance” and “Chalk Dust Torture”, the latter of which featured a tease of The Beatles‘ “Norwegian Wood” tucked within an expansive 14-minute jam.
“Evolve” offered a moment of reprieve in an otherwise jam-heavy first set, followed by 10+ minute takes on fan favorites “Stash”, “Wolfman’s Brother”, and “Harry Hood”.
Phish – “What’s Going Through Your Mind” – 4/25/25
Set two began on a lighter note with the laid-back and inquisitive “What’s Going Through Your Mind” before the energy picked up with a forceful “Carini”, which hit the crowd like a direct energy weapon with teases of “Dave’s Energy Guide” from Page and Trey.

The subsequent 20-minute “Light” was the undisputed highlight of evening, with some fans dubbing it Phish’s most impressive jam of the year so far.
A sprawling “Mercury”, the second of three songs not yet seen this tour, kept the jams rolling, flowing past the 14-minute mark like a quick silver stream before giving way to “Piper”.
The set started to wind down with the contemplative “A Life Beyond The Dream” before finishing on a high note with the story of the “Ghost”.
A kinetic “Possum” kicked off a high-energy encore, proving Phish had plenty left in the tank for two more nights at the Bowl, and the tour’s first “Tweezer Reprise” capped off night one with one last blast of sonic firepower.
