Phish has released the latest edition of the band’s free Live Bait sampler series. Available now on the LivePhish app, Live Bait Vol. 17 features ten individual tracks recorded between 1994 and 2014.
The new Live Bait collection kicks off with a “Mike’s Groove” segment from 10/19/95 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO. After that 30-minute movement of ’95 madness comes the less frequent pairing of “Tweezer” and “Makisupa Policeman” which comes from 9/28/99 at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, AL. The 23-minute jam gives way to a 15-minute “Split Open And Melt” from 10/25/94 at the Atlanta Civic Center in Georgia, marking the earliest entry on Live Bait Vol. 17.

“Down With Disease” from 7/1/99 at First American Music Center in Antioch, TN comes in next for a whopping 18 minutes ahead of a trek to Deer Creek Music Center on the night of 7/11/00 for the second-ever “Chalk Dust Torture Reprise” into “Chalk Dust Torture” clocking in at 11 minutes. A healthy 14-minute “Reba” (sans whistling) from 8/14/96 at Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania comes ahead of the longest jam of Live Bait Vol. 17, a 32-minute “Runaway Jim” from 7/3/00 at E Centre in Camden, NJ.
The last entry of 1.0 comes next with a 23-minute coupling of “Fluffhead” and “Lifeboy” from the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA on 8/3/97. Fast forward ahead 14 years and six days to Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s in Stateline, NV for a 16-minute outing of “Light” before a “Simple” that was anything-but from the “Lushington” show at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO on 8/29/14 rages out the final 22 minutes of Live Bait Vol. 17.
