Phish fans might have been disappointment that the band was not among the artists named as 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, but those who tuned into John Mulaney’s Netflix series Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney got an unexpected treat as Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Page McConnell made a surprise cameo appearance portraying characters from the show Seinfeld.

In a surreal collision of worlds, the jam juggernauts flexed their acting chops in a bit that started with Mulaney viewing the band through a telescope. His sidekick Richard Kind meanwhile asked if it was too late to change the episode’s theme to “What if Seinfeld was Phish?” Cut to the band members in what looks like Seinfeld’s New York City apartment, each dressed as a character from the beloved sitcom, with Trey as Jerry, Mike as George, Fishman as Elaine, and Page as Kramer.

“Can you believe credit history?” Trey asks Mike in a Seinfeld-esque setup. Mike replies, “I hate credit history,” before Trey continues, “It’s credit, it’s history.” Fishman then bursts through the door as Elaine, wearing a dress not all that different from usual stage attire, though its Page’s chaotic Kramer-like entrance that prompts the laugh track.

The band reprised their cameo later in the episode, apparently unable to hit their mark. Don’t quit your day jobs, Phish.
