Believe it or not, there was actually a song in the epic 52-minute “Drive-In Jam” from Phish’s Magnaball festival. It just might not be the song you expected.

When it was all said and done, bassist Mike Gordon posed a question to his Twitter followers: Speaking of the drive-in set, who can name the @MarcoBenevento song alluded to with my “bass” during a “moment” ???

We’ll post the Drive-In Jam video right here, in case you want to take a crack at figuring out which Marco Benevento song was alluded to during the jam. The answer will appear below, so don’t scroll down unless you want the spoiler!

Gordon retweeted the answer, confirming that he played “Fireworks” somewhere around the 36-minute mark of the improvisational jam session. Considering that Gordon and Benevento were in GRAB together, and they hung out again earlier this summer, it’s not too surprising that this happened. Still, very cool!
