Rhode Island rock-folkers Deer Tick made the trek up to Woodstock, NY on Friday to visit the hallowed grounds of Levon Helm Studios.

Deer Tick arrived in the New York state hippie haven the same day its latest single, “If I Try To Leave”, hit streaming services, earning the track a preferred spot on Friday’s setlist behind show-opener “Forgiving Ties”. The band made sure to give plenty of love to its upcoming album, Emotional Contracts—out Friday via ATO Records—sandwiching the concert between previously released singles “Forgiving Ties” and “The Real Thing” while also including “Once In A Lifetime” along the way.

For the Providence, RI natives, Levon Helm Studios has become a yearly pilgrimage. The band last appeared at the intimate barn back in August 2022 and has played at the former site of The Band drummer Levon Helm‘s legendary “Midnight Rambles” annually since 2019, taking a year off for the pandemic in 2020.
