Singer-songwriter Josh Ritter visited the Tarrytown Music Hall just up the Hudson River from New York City on Thursday to share his craft. The evening saw the multi-hyphenate perform over two dozen songs from throughout his catalog.

After opening up with “A Big Enough Sky”, Ritter made sure to touch on his most recent album, 2019’s Fever Breaks, with “On The Water”. Peppered in amid classics like “Old Black Magic” and “Kathleen” were deeper cuts like “Miles Away”, which was included on Ritter’s 2020 EP of rare and unreleased recordings, See Here, I Have Built You A Mansion.

After closing the main set with perhaps his most celebrated composition, “Getting Ready To Get Down”, Ritter paid homage to his influences with a three-song encore featuring covers of Jimmy Durante and Garth Brooks as well as a closing “Girl in the War”.
