Kitchen Dwellers on Tuesday visited Kansas City, MO where the galaxy grass quartet fittingly covered Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s “Tuesday’s Gone”.

The classic from Skynyrd’s landmark 1973 debut (Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd) closed out the Dwellers’ fiery two-set performance. After mixing originals “Wind Bitten”, “Wise River”, “Smokestack”, and “Muir Maid” with favorites from bluegrass icons John Hartford and The Stanley Brothers in the first set, Kitchen Dwellers delivered a non-stop second set during which the band didn’t cease playing until the encore break.

A fiery “Comet” opened the second frame and propelled the band through ’90s country throwback “Queen of My Double Wide Trailer”, originals “Paradise Valley” and “Mountain”, and a jammed-out “Ebenezer’s Winter” that proved an improvisational highlight of the evening. The title track to the band’s literary 2024 album Seven Devils inally closed the frame. To reward the weeknight crowd who came and packed Kansas City’s Knuckleheads on a Tuesday, Kitchen Dwellers serenaded them with “Tuesday’s Gone”.
