Thumpasaurus brought the Struttin’ Across America tour to Deep Ellum Art Company in Dallas, TX on Friday after a successful nationwide trek. The show featured an opening set from Dallas’ own Primo Danger.
Known for their dynamic live performances, the white jumpsuit-clad funk outfit has kept the setlist relatively stable on its first headlining tour since 2018, opening with the group’s viral hit “Struttin'”, from which the tour gets its name. The song first garnered popularity on the band’s TikTok before reaching an even wider audience when it was synced in a popular Samsung commercial featuring a selfie-taking cat.
The remainder of the set drew songs from 2021’s Thumpaverse album, including “I’m Pissed”, “You Don’t Know What You’re Talkin’ Bout”, “Space Barn”, and “End of the Night”, and from the band’s 2022 live album, Live at the Echo, including “These Are The Days”, “Evil”, “Bubble”, “You Are So Pretty”, and “Alien”. For the encore, the band selected “This Old Man” and the appropriate show closer “End of the Night”.
