Over the weekend, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong celebrated Halloween with a four-night “Red Hot Sergeant Peppers” run, which included a Halloween proper celebration at Richmond, VA’s The National; followed by a performance at Charlotte, NC’s Neighborhood Theatre; and culminated with a two-night stand at Atlanta, GA’s Variety Playhouse.

Over the four nights, PPPP’s dedicated fanbase “The Flock” were treated to 15+ debut covers, including The Beatles’ “I Am The Walrus” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers’ classics like “Give It Away”, “Around The World”, and their first complete version of “Otherside.” Dressed in red Sergeant Peppers jackets with custom patches on the back reminiscent of the classic RHCP symbol, the band completed their musical costume with white pants that featured black tribal designs from the RHCP album Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

On the final night at the sold-out Variety Playhouse, the band surprised fans by putting a twist on the theme and mixing Grateful Dead covers into the material for a night of “Dead Hot Seargent Peppers.” They shocked the crowd by unzipping their Sgt. jackets to show skeleton shirts to signify the change in theme.

On Halloween night, guitarist Greg Ormont celebrated his birthday, as the band worked through a massive segue of “Offshoot > Around The World > Time To Ride > Birthday > Time To Ride” at their sold-out show. Watching Ormont work through the Beatles’ “Birthday” was quite the savory treat on his own birthday.

Luckily for fans, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have shared pro-shot video of “Offshoot > Around The World > Time To Ride > Birthday > Time To Ride” which you can watch below:
