Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has announced a set of drive-in shows, billed as Time To Drive In, set to take place in August. In addition to their previously announced August 21st performance on the grounds of Philadelphia, PA’s Citizen’s Bank Park, the Baltimore-native quartet will perform at Cape Cod, MA’s Yarmouth Drive-In on August 13th, and Auburn, NY’s Finger Lakes Drive-In on August 15th and 16th.
While live shows have been widely canceled for the past four months with the ongoing pandemic, bands are embracing new ways to bring live music to fans. What was once deemed somehow “outdated”, drive-in venues are making a comeback as a safe and healthy current alternative to allow live music to happen in the United States.
The band will finish off their slew of drive-in performances at Philadelphia, PA’s Citizens Bank Park Parking Lot on August 21st as part of Live Nation’s Live-In / Drive-In series along with acts Lotus, Dark Star Orchestra, The Struts, The Front Bottoms, Mt. Joy, and more.
While the band has been diligent on livestreaming performances as part of the Live From Out There series and Homefest, the August run of drive-in shows will mark the band’s first live performances in front of fans since their show at Covington, KY’s Madison Theater on March 11th.
Tickets for Cape Cod’s drive-in show on August 13th will go on sale this Friday at 1 p.m. ET, with the remaining shows going on sale at 10 a.m. ET. Fans should stay tuned for further information on safety procedures, car capacities, and ticket prices. Head to the band’s website for more information. Grab yourself a seat—it’s time to drive!
