Pigeons Playing Ping Pong‘s fall tour continued its way across Texas on Friday as the band helped their fans in Austin funk into the weekend with a show at Emo’s.

The performance on Friday included an opening set by funk quintet Thumpasaurus, setting The Flock free to dance about in the popular Austin venue.

Pigeons opened the show with “Whoopie” before moving into “Porcupine” and “Bad For You”. “Julia” came next before the rock band launched the audience into a two-song combination with “Live Life” into “The Liquid”. The set came to a close with “Couldn’t We All”.

Pigeons returned to the stage to start the second half of the show with “High As Five” and quickly turned up the energy for “Burning Up My Time”, which moved right into a cover of Led Zeppelin‘s “Kashmir” before returning to “Burning”. The second set continued with “Whirled”, “Horizon”, “Dawn A new Day”, and finally “Avalance” to bring things to a close. The band returned to the stage to send fans home with a two-song encore of “Lowdown” and “Schwanthem”.

The band’s Texas run continues into the weekend with a show at Houston’s Last Concert Cafe scheduled for Saturday. Head to the band’s website for tickets and tour info.
