Pigeons Playing Ping Pong were back in action over the weekend as the funk-fueled rock outfit welcomed fans (in cars) to a pair of performances at the Finger Lakes Drive-In in Auburn, NY on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Their performance on Sunday was the latest on the band’s concert schedule as the quartet continues their Time To Drive-In tour along the eastern U.S. this month. For their show on Sunday, Pigeons delivered two sets of music that, even if just for a few hours, reminded fans what it was like to be a part of the communal live music experience that was once so prevalent in daily life prior to March.

Sunday’s performance opened with “Henrietta”, followed by “Whirled” and “Somethin For Ya” to get fans loosened up inside their cars to start the night. The band continued with another song from 2017’s Pizazz in “Too Long”, which moved right into “The Imperial March” theme from Star Wars before returning to “Too Long”. The first set continued with “Overrun”, one of the newer originals which appeared on 2020’s Presto, followed by “Whoopie”, another nod to classic cinematic scores with “Chariots of Fire”, and closing with “Couldn’t We All”.

The second half of the show opened with “Porcupine” as the band kept rocking non-stop into “Undivided” for just the second time since its debut earlier this year, a cover of Savage Garden‘s “I Want You”, “Moonwalk”, and “Burning Up My Time”. The second half of set two continued with “Lost In Line”, “The Liquid”, “Indiglo”, and “F.U.”. The band then returned to the stage to send fans home with “Skipjack”.
