Legendary New Orleans grooves are making their way to New York next month, as a special Foundation Of Funk concert is coming to The Hall At MP on May 20th. The show will feature the legendary rhythm section of The Meters, powered by bassist George Porter Jr. and drummer Zigaboo Modeliste. With some help from Lettuce/Soulive players Eric Krasno and Neal Evans, you can expect some serious funk.
We’re excited to announce that Brooklyn-based crew The Pimps of Joytime will be joining Foundation of Funk as support for the show. Pimps of Joytime continue to impress fans with energetic live performances, as the five-piece group never fail to keep the dance party going. PoJ tunes are downright infectious, riding the groove with steadfast instrumentation. The result is electrifying.
