A large photography event involving nearly 2,000 photographers and models in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles was mistaken for a rave and shut down by the LAPD.

The group responsible for running the event, called Flaskmob, is “a group of like-minded creatives that get together once a month and take photos of their city.” This was their biggest event, a photography walk calling its subjects to play with fire (watch below).

The bevy of costumed individuals and lights and fire caused police to perceive them as a massive rave gone out of control, and attempt to shut the party down.
