Amid the ongoing cancellations of live music events during due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures have launched a COVID-19 Relief Fund Program to benefit industry gig workers. Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures’ new COVID-19 Relief Fund aims to support these behind-the-scenes workers who are critical to the success of live events while the live event industry remains on hold. Furthermore, Positive Legacy has vowed to match every donation dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000, with every grant beneficiary to receive $250.

Fans can donate here or via Venmo at @positive-legacy. Independent contractors in the live music industry whose income or health has been directly impacted by COVID-19 are eligible and can apply for grants from the new Relief Fund here.

To raise additional funds, the two organizations will stream archival live shows throughout the next several weeks and encourage fans to donate what they can toward the cause. The program will kick off tonight, Thursday, April 23rd, with a vintage Lettuce show from Jam Cruise 9 at 8 ET on the Positive Legacy Facebook page.

The new Positive Legacy/Cloud 9 COVID-19 Relief Fund will aim to bolster efforts by the federal government to take care of gig workers during this unprecedented time. The CARES Act, which just went into effect earlier this week, allows self-employed and gig workers to apply for unemployment for the first time ever.
