Post Malone recently stopped by The Howard Stern Show to discuss life and his latest album, Austin, but the highlight of the appearance came when Posty welcomed a full band and chorus for a powerful cover of “Them Bones” by grunge rockers Alice In Chains.

The bone-chilling acoustic performance occurred in the midst of a wide-ranging interview in which host Howard Stern asked the tatted-up pop star about his secret to losing weight (“hot sauce has no calories”), getting his first face tattoo (he said Godsmack‘s Sully Erna was the first person he saw with one), spending $2 million on a Magic: The Gathering card, and, of course, Taylor Swift. Malone, who is friendly with both Swift and her new beau Travis Kelce, said he approved of the it-couple’s blossoming romance and challenged Kelce to a beer pong rematch.

Stern and Post Malone also connected over their shared feelings of social alienation in youth and discussed how it affected their experiences of success. Each acknowledged that they felt some resentment in response to their overwhelming popularity after facing years of rejection, like all the people who wanted nothing to do with them suddenly wanted a piece once they were successful, a theme they related to the song “Don’t Understand” from Post Malone’s album Austin.

Post Malone was then joined in the studio by a full band and choir for a performance that included a unique arrangement of Alice In Chains’ “Them Bones” and Austin track “Landmine”.
