Cory Henry has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. A two-time Grammy Award winner with Snarky Puppy, the immensely talented fan-favorite keyboardist has made his mark on the jazz and funk world, becoming a darling of both genres in addition to a full-blown international sensation. With his solo project, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles, Henry has continued to wow audiences and critics alike, solidifying himself as one of the standout musicians of the past decade and gaining fame in his own right as a remarkable singer and songwriter as well.
Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles recently performed at the iconic Telluride Jazz Festival, playing the fan-favorite mountain-town festival earlier in the summer. While in town for Telluride Jazz, Cory Henry and company made the time to record a special performance for the online YouTube series, Jam In The Van, including takes on “Takes All Time”, “Trade It All”, and “In the Water”, all off the group’s recently released EP, Art Of Love. Recorded at Jam In The Van‘s solar-powered mobile recording studio, the three-song session perfectly captures the essence of Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles—soulful, sonically rich, and energized.
As Cory Henry shared with us about the sessions, “The Funk Apostles had a jam-good time in Jam In The Van! It was a beautiful experience, and we hope everyone feels the joy we felt playing music.”
