New Orleans’ own Preservation Hall Jazz Band has just announced details for their 2nd annual Preservation Hall Ball, which will take place at the Civic Theatre in NOLA on Saturday, October 3rd, along with a second “expansion” event at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco on Friday, November 6th. The group has announced a number of confirmed collaborators for the event, including Meshell Ndegeocello, Corey Glover of Living Colour, Beats Antique, Deacon John Moore, Pinettes Brass Band and a several more guests to be announced.

The event serves as a benefit to The Preservation Hall Foundation, whose mission is to “protects, preserve, and perpetuate the musical heritage of New Orleans”, by serving underprivileged children in New Orleans with classes by master jazz musicians, and sponsoring many different community programs which include field trips, master classes, free community performances, and private lessons. In addition to the shows, a special patron package will be available to Foundation donors. Patron pass holders are invited to a special after show event. Tickets for Preservation Hall Ball go on sale this Friday, July 17th at 3pm EST. Tickets and more information about VIP packages are available at the official Preservation Hall website.
