While South by Southwest has been a staple of the music scene for decades, the annual festival/convention has made a one-of-a-kind announcement for their 2016 event. The event is known for their keynote speakers, and this year will feature speeches from President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

For the first time in SXSW history, a sitting President and First Lady will take part in the renowned music convention. President Obama will sit down with Evan Smith, the CEO and Editor of The Texas Tribute, for “a conversation about civic engagement in the 21st Century before an audience of creators, early adopters and entrepreneurs who are defining the future of our connected lives.”

Meanwhile, First Lady Michelle Obama will discuss the Let Girls Learn initiative, which aims to help the 62 million girls who do not have access to education opportunities.

“I can’t imagine a better way to celebrate our event’s 30th year than to welcome both the President and First Lady to SXSW,” said Co-founder Roland Swenson in a statement. “As each new generation comes up at SXSW they look for ways they can be of service, and it’s important to reflect and support that message. President and Mrs. Obama’s visit here will inspire attendees to that purpose.”
