On the first night of their three-night New Year’s run at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, beloved Southern jam rockers Widespread Panic welcomed keyboardist Chuck Leavell into the fold for some blues-soaked rock and roll. Leavell joined for a handful of songs, including covers of The Rolling Stones, Son House and The Allman Brothers.

Leavell got his Allmans fill over the New Year’s weekend, playing with WSP on December 29th before heading to New York to join Gov’t Mule for their “AllMule Brothers” set on New Year’s Eve. With Panic on 12/29, Leavell led the charge on a rockin’ cover of “Jessica.”
