With the unfortunate passing of soul singer Sharon Jones after a long battle with pancreatic cancer on November 18th, it has been announced that public memorial services will held in both Brooklyn, NY and Augusta, GA. Jones was 60 years old when she succumbed to the terrible disease.
The Brooklyn service will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at Brown Memorial Baptist Church, and set to begin at 6pm. Augusta’s Imperial Theater will also host a service, that is set for Saturday, December 17th. Her family has requested that in lieu of sending flowers, to please make donations to the James Brown Family Foundation, Little Kids Rock, and The Lustgarten Foundation.
