Today, the pop starlet Lana Del Ray took to Twitter to confirm rumors that she was being sued by the alt-rock icons of Radiohead. The lawsuit involves musical similarities between the iconic number “Creep” and Lana Del Ray’s “Get Free”, off Del Ray’s most recent album Lust For Life. Though the camps for both artists have been in conversation, it seems as though the suit will go to court following Radiohead’s demands that they receive 100% of the publishing proceeds.
No court date has been determined as of yet. You can read Lana Del Ray’s tweet and listen to the two songs below to compare them for similarities.
It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing – I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.
