Thanks to the two-pronged system of spring’s Record Store Day and fall’s Record Store Day Black Friday, audiophiles are never more than a few months away from special vinyl releases. Record Store Day Black Friday 2025 is set for November 28th, and organizers have issued their full list of releases coming the day after Thanksgiving.
The full slate of 176 titles includes releases by everyone from global superstar Billie Eilish and breakout Grammy-winner GloRilla to blues legends John Lee Hooker and B.B. King to a live recording of Warren Zevon‘s final concert. Among the most eye-catching releases are a new live album from Old & In The Way, the bluegrass supergroup composed of Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Peter Rowan, John Kahn, and Vassar Clements. The 2LP Live at Sonoma State – 11/4/73 features the group in its prime, playing 19 songs and even welcoming folk legend “Ramblin'” Jack Elliott, who was also on the bill that day, up for a couple songs.
Another major highlight of Record Store Day Black Friday 2025 is a vinyl pressing of Ween’s 2005 odds-and-ends album, Shinola, Vol. 1. While Ween remains on indefinite hiatus as guitarist Dean Ween (born Mickey Melchiondo) tends to his mental health, the new brown vinyl with remastered demos, B-sides, and rarities recorded between 1990 and 2003 will hopefully be of some comfort to followers of the Boognish.
The Grateful Dead will also issue two archival releases for Record Store Day Black Friday 2025. The Warfield, San Francisco, CA Oct 4 & 6, 1980 captures two acoustic sets from the Dead’s 15th-anniversary run on their home turf, throwing it back to the band’s early days of mixing acoustic and electric sets. For its second vinyl collaboration with Dogfish Head Brewery, the Grateful Dead will also release On A Back Porch Vol. 2, a drinkable brew of easy favorites like “Althea”, “Here Comes Sunshine”, “Sugar Magnolia”, “Dancing in the Street”, and the less common “Believe It Or Not”, which got cut from 1989’s Built to Last and was only played live seven times by the Dead.
Check out the full list of 2025 Record Store Day Black Friday releases here, along with 32 hand-picked titles below.
