All four members of Red Hot Chili Peppers – Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer – made their way onto James Corden’s classic sketch, Carpool Karaoke. The Late Late Show host welcomed the premier rock band in his van on last night’s episode, cruising around Los Angeles while singing classics from the RHCP catalog, as well as some surprises.
The band busted out hits like “Give It Away,” “Under The Bridge,” and “Californication,” as well as new song “Dark Necessities” and a yodeling song called “Heemi Lheemey” that Flea and Kiedis wrote together at the age of 15. They also busted out a showtune from the musical Oliver, just for good measure.
With a new album The Getaway due out this Friday, it’s nice to see the band still out there and having fun. The playfulness between the band members and show host culminates in a wrestling match between Corden and Kiedis, befor the band piles back in the car and finishes off the segment with a karaoke’d version of “By The Way.”
