On Sunday night, Red Hot Chili Peppers offered up a performance at Marina Bay, Singapore’s Marina Bay Street Circuit. Towards the end of the band’s one-set performance, RHCP worked through a debut cover in honor of The Cars‘ late frontman, Ric Ocasek.

The band—comprised of Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and Josh Klinghoffer—opened up their career-spanning setlist with an “Intro Jam” before working through “Can’t Stop”, “Fortune Faded”, “The Zephyr Song”, “Dark Necessities”, and “Strip My Mind”. Following a cover of The Stooges‘ “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, the quartet moved forward with “Right On Time”, “Snow ((Hey Oh))”, “Californication”, “Go Robot”, and “Higher Ground”.

Red Hot Chili Peppers then offered up a debut cover of The Cars’ “Just What I Needed”, in honor of late frontman Ric Ocasek, who was found dead at his townhouse in Manhattan on Sunday, September 15th. Following “Soul To Squeeze”, RHCP brought their set to a close with fan-favorite “By The Way”. To kick off their three-song encore, Klinghoffer emerged solo to offer up a cover of Prince‘s “Purple Rain”. The remainder of the band then joined Josh to close out the show with “Goodbye Angels” and “Give It Away”.
