The Red Hot Chili Peppers are synonymous with Los Angeles and Southern California. With that in mind, they are the perfect band to help the SoCal area welcome the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams back to the area. The Chili Peppers have cooked up something special to welcome the Rams home after a 21-year absence, as they will perform a special, thirty-minute pre-game set at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this Sunday.
The band’s bassist, Flea, had this to say about the return of the Rams: “Since I was a little boy, I’ve taken joy in the beauty of the Rams. When I moved to Los Angeles in 1972, I was getting uprooted from my home and I thought, ‘Well, where I’m going they’ve got the Rams. It’s going to be all right.'”
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently touring in support of their recently released, Danger Mouse produced album The Getaway.
