The Revivalists continued their run of 2019 tour dates on Saturday with another sold-out headlining performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO for the second consecutive year. The New Orleans-based eight-piece is currently touring in support of their 2018 album, Take Good Care, with a handful of the new material making it into the night’s 19-song setlist. The performance on Saturday also featured support from Anderson East.

The Revivalists opened their headlining appearance with a high-energy performance of “Criminal” before charging into the core of their set with songs like “Oh No”, “When I’m With You”, “Change”, “You and I”, “Otherside of Paradise”, and “Wait for the Sun”. After leaving the stage following performances of “Got Love” and a fitting “Celebration”, the band returned for a three-song encore with “Soul’s Too Loud”, “You Said It All”, and “Wish I Knew You”.

The energy from the packed mountain venue proved to be too much to simply let the band go back to the dressing room, as they were called back for a second encore which began with the softer “Soulfight”. The Revivalists finally brought the show to a thrilling close with a cover of The Rolling Stones‘ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.

The Revivalists bassist George Gekas will lead the September edition of The Funk Sessions at Denver’s Cervantes’ Other Side on September 19th along with The Revivalists bandmates Ed Williams (pedal steel), Zack Feinberg (guitar), Rob Ingraham (saxophone), and Michael Girardot (keys/trumpet) ahead of their Red Rocks Amphitheatre performance on September 21st.
