An all-star cast of musicians will embark on a 12-date fall tour in celebration of The Band’s 1976 farewell concert, The Last Waltz.
Announced on Wednesday, The Last Waltz Tour 2019: A Celebration of The Band’s Historic Farewell Concert will be produced by Blackbird Presents‘ Robbie Robertson (of The Band), Sebastian Robertson, and Keith Wortman. The tour will begin with a show at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on November 5th and continues throughout the month before wrapping on November 21st with a gig at Chicago, IL’s Chicago Theatre. Robertson will be joined throughout the November trek by Warren Haynes, Don Was, Jamey Johnson, and Lukas Nelson, in addition to John Medeski, Terence Higgins and Mark Mullins and the Levee Horns.

The tour will also feature appearances from Cyril Neville (The Meters, Neville Brothers) in addition to Dave Malone and Bob Margolin of The Radiators, who performed alongside Muddy Waters at the blues guitarist’s original Last Waltz performance.
The upcoming run of shows acts as an extension of Blackbird Presents’ two-night, sold-out The Last Waltz New Orleans concert event in 2016, and The Last Waltz 40th Anniversary Tour in 2017.

Blackbird Presents’ Keith Wortman also mentioned, “We are excited to be working closely with Robbie, Warren, Don and our incredible lineup of musicians and special guests on the latest incarnation of The Last Waltz Tour. This year’s tour will introduce fans to some very special never-heard-before arrangements of the classic hits from that Thanksgiving night in 1976.”
