The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed the slate of nominees up for induction in 2026, a far-reaching roster ranging from heavy metal forefathers Iron Maiden to hip-hop OGs Wu-Tang Clan to international pop star Shakira to R&B icon Luther Vandross.

Of the 17 nominees—up from 14 in 2025—five appeared on last year’s ballot (The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, and Oasis). Despite overwhelmingly winning the online fan vote in 2025, Phish did not return to the ballot this year. Meanwhile, Oasis is back in the running, even after singer Liam Gallagher publicly lambasted the Rock Hall—a rite of passage for many nominees and inductees—saying it’s “for wankers.”

Phish bassist Mike Gordon, when asked last year in the nicest possible way, “Do you care?” responded, “It’s a tricky answer because it’s somewhere between yes and no, on neither end [laughs]. So, yeah… I mean… [with a note of sudden resolution] It’s nice. What can I say?”

Iron Maiden and Sade are both back on the ballot after previous tries, while Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, P!nk, Shakira, Luther Vandros, and Wu-Tang Clan are all on their first attempt. P!nk’s nomination came in the singer’s first year of eligibility, amid a 25th anniversary celebration of her debut album, Can’t Take Me Home (April 2000). Collins is up for his second Rock Hall induction after Genesis made the cut in 2010—inducted by Trey Anastasio with a performance from Phish—while the late Jeff Buckley is in the running to be one of the few Hall of Fame artists with just one album (1994’s Grace).

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 1,200 members will mark their ballots over the next two months, with the winners announced in April. Fans can vote online, but the winner of the online fan contest receives only one additional vote. When the final inductees are announced, the Hall will also name three additional honorees for Musical Influence, Musical Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award.
