The Vegabonds are a force to be reckoned with. Their gorgeous harmonies and impressive instrumental skills make for a perfect combination. They know how to showcase their sound to the fullest, which they accomplished in spades on their 2016 release What We’re Made Of. The album came as the result of seven years of touring, songwriting, and a dedication to making their band the best that it can be. Their hard work has surely paid off, as they delivered a solid record that combines complex lyrics with soaring music in a way that’s reminiscent of My Morning Jacket and The Black Crowes.

Back in 2016, The Vegabonds brought their high-octane live show to Aisle 5 in Atlanta, where they performed an awesome combination of “Georgia Fire” into “The Hammer” that truly shows off the best of their talents. “Georgia Fire” is from their 2012 record Southern Sons, and it was written after the tragic fire that hit the Georgia Theatre in 2009. The video shows off the emotional, power chord-driven rock anthem, with spot-on guitar playing and tons of energy from the band, before they drop into the equally epic What We’re Made Of track “The Hammer.”

Lead-singer and rhythm guitarist Danny Allen explains, “‘Georgia Fire’ is about a group of our friends who frequented the Georgia Theatre where they caught some of their favorite shows. The song is based on the emotions they felt when they heard that a massive fire nearly burned the Theatre to the ground in June 2009. We love Athens, GA, and will be playing GATH on April 12th.”
