On June 1st, 1975, Faces member Ronnie Wood picked up a guitar and joined The Rolling Stones in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Replacing Mick Taylor, who had departed from the band after a six-year tenure, Wood had no idea that his new gig would last four decades, and beyond.

Now in the midst of their “Zip Code” tour of the United States, Wood has become an integral member of the Rolling Stones family. It’s hard to imagine the Stones without Wood, their tour de force lead guitarist. As a tribute to his tenure with the group, the Stones released the following video commemorating the anniversary. Enjoy!

Here’s to another 40 years of the Stones!
