The Rolling Stones continued the rescheduled North American summer leg of their No Filter Tour over the weekend with a performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA on Sunday. Five songs into their packed stadium show last night, the rock band welcomed tour opener and noted guitarist Gary Clark Jr. to help them perform “Ride ‘Em On Down”, an old tune originally penned by Eddie Taylor which was featured on the band’s 2016 Grammy-winning blues covers album, Blue & Lonesome.

Mick Jagger briefly introduced the song before guitarist Ronnie Wood launched the rest of the band into old blues tune with its opening riff. Jagger took the opening verse, while Clark stepped up to the mic to handle lead vocal duties on the second. As for the solo portion of the song, both Wood and Clark exchanged leads while treating the fans to a storm of distorted notation capable of lifting any rock fan out of their seats.

The remainder of the Sunday show featured performances of “Sympathy For the Devil”, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, “Honky Tonk Women”, and “Paint It Black”, just to name a few. The tour is scheduled to head south with their rescheduled performance in New Orleans, LA with a show at The Superdome on July 14th. The upcoming performance in “The Big Easy” was initially supposed to take place in the spring during Jazz Fest prior to Jagger’s heart surgery which set the tour back a few months.
