[UPDATE 3/20/24]: After revealing its inaugural artist lineup earlier this week, Rose on the River has announced the day-by-day breakdown of performances set to take place over the course of four days (July 4th–7th, 2024) at The Salt Shed Fairgrounds in Chicago.

The single-stage series will begin on Thursday, July 4th with performances by My Morning JacketNeal FrancisAndy Frasco & The U.N., and Hans Williams. Rose on the River will continue on Friday, July 5th with Tash SultanaFlying LotusTank and the Bangas, and Karina Rykman.

On Saturday, July 6th, Thundercat will lead a bill featuring BADBADNOTGOODDOMi & JD Beck, and CARRTOONS. Finally, the festivities will come to a close on Sunday, July 7th with sets by Vulfpeck, a Celebration of The Meters featuring George Porter Jr.Leo Nocentelli, and DumpstaphunkKarl Denson’s Tiny Universe, and Giacomo Turra.

[3/18/24]: Rose on the River, a new Independence Day Weekend celebration at Chicago, IL’s The Salt Shed Fairgrounds set to run from July 4th–7th, 2024, has announced the loaded artist lineup for its inaugural edition.

Presented by Deep Cut and The Salt Shed, Rose on the River will offer a unique take on the weekend festival model with a series of multi-band lineups throughout its four-day run. As the new event noted in its announcement, “Expect an intimate, single-stage concert series featuring Alt-Indie, Jam-adjacent Rock, Funk, Soul, and Progressive Jazz. No conflicting set times, no sound bleed, and no missing a minute of your favorite band.”

Monday’s artist announcement makes good on that promise with an eclectic bill featuring My Morning Jacket, Tash Sultana, Thundercat, Vulfpeck, BADBADNOTGOODCelebration of The Meters featuring George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli, and Dumpstaphunk, Flying Lotus, and Neal Francis. Other acts set to hit the Salt Shed stage during the inaugural Rose on the River include Andy Frasco & The U.N., DOMi & JD Beck, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Tank and the Bangas, CARRTOONS, Giacomo Turra, Hans Williams, and Karina Rykman.
