Rush’s 40th anniversary celebration, appropriately titled “12 months of Rush” is well underway, with January’s reissue of Fly By Night and this past month’s re-release of Caress Of Steel. Next month will see the most unique re-issue from the prog-rock band yet; a vinyl edition of 2112 which projects a hologram of its album art as it is being played. The special re-issue is due in stores on March 17th alongside another re-issue (sans hologram) of the great album All The Worlds A Stage.

In a test press clip below, one can see how the process is generated by while playing the second side of the album. During that time, the album will magically project the band’s famed red star of the federation.

To continue the celebration, Rush will begin the North American leg of their tour on May 8th in Tulsa, OK. Band members did tease that this may be their last large scale tour so catch them while you can! Tickets are available for purchase here
