Earlier this month, we discovered that Ryan Adams has big plans in store for 2019. The news first broke in a series of tweets in which the rocker shared the album art for his first upcoming album release, Big Colors, due out on April 19th via Pax-Am/Blue Note/Capitol. He also hinted that there would be two more albums coming in its wake before the end of the year. As he noted in one of his tweets, “Remember that year when I released 3 records. … Let’s do it again.” The 3-album year to which Adams is referring is 2005, when he released Cold RosesJacksonville City Nights, and 29.

Recently, Adams shared a photo in the studio with Bob Weir, hinting at collaborative material with the music behemoth in the near future. Today, we learned a little more about the upcoming Grateful Dead-related collab, as Ryan Adams shared an in-studio video to his Instagram and Twitter accounts, backed by Weir, Blue Note Records President and bassist Don Was, and drummer Jay Lane. That trio should sound familiar to Bobby fans—in the fall of 2018, Weir, Was, and Lane joined forces for their inaugural tour as Bob Weir and Wolf Bros, the latest Grateful Dead spinoff group to hit the road.

Watch Ryan Adams’ recent post with Weir, Was, and Lane below, and get excited for a Ryan Adams-heavy year, as he will continue to release new music in the upcoming months.
