Die hard Britney fans are outraged, EDM fans are disgusted, and the music industries most notorious beat thief is going to make hundreds of thousands of dollars. These factors have set the stage for “Work Bitch”, the fresh off the laptop collaboration between Sebastian Ingrosso, Britney Spears and Will.i.am, to debut to more criticism than excitement.

This past Wednesday night Britney leaked a picture on her Twitter of a copy of the lyric sheet for the single slated to premiere this coming Monday. Clearly disinterested in sharing anything but the names of her collaborators Britney blacked out the actual lyrics of the song but left the names at the top of the page bold as brass. Sebastian Ingrosso, Will.i.am, Otto Knows, Irish singer/songwriter Ruth-Anne Cunningham and songwriter/producer Anthony Preston.

While many in the EDM world are busy snubbing their noses at Ingrosso that he would deign to lower himself to such deplorable levels of popdom I find it totally unsurprising. After how far Swedish House Mafia waded into the pool of mainstream pop music it was only a matter of time before a collaboration of this sort occurred.

However it does slightly sadden me, for snobby inexplicable reasons that Otto Knows has decided to lend his hand, but I guess those Swedish boys have to stick together. Not to mention, with so many irritating albeit talented collaborators this news leaves me wondering, what does Britney really even do? We all know her voice has been on auto tune since the early 2000′s. As the lead single off her new album Britney fans are hoping against the rest of their eagerly awaited pop princesses album won’t be tainted with EDM while EDM fans are hoping no more of their idols shall fall to the world of the “mainstream.” From both sides, good luck Britney.
