Wiley Griffin (of MUN) opened up the night at Nectar’s with an acoustic Phish cover set that was a really spot on solo performance. With the aid of looping tools, Griffin really did a great job with the set. To follow Pitchblak Brass Band put down a solid set to warm the crowd up for the main event, TAUK.
TAUK brought a completely instrumental progressive rock sound to the packed out Nectar’s venue in downtown Burlington, VT on Saturday night. The band sounds like a combination of Umphrey’s McGee with a a hint of Disco Biscuits and a perfect blend that makes their own unique sound of livetronica and heavy instrumentals.
The group performs with a confidence that is memorable and energizing experience; with synthesizers blazing and along with shredding guitar rips and heavy percussion TAUK is surely an in your face jam experience that will keep you on your toes the whole show. The blend of funk-tronica with progressive rock, into an almost “lounge-style” music really is an impressive show of diversity.
The Burlington crowd definitely loved the band and will be happy to see them back anytime soon. TAUK’s tour continues around the country, be sure to make it to a show.
