Sierra Ferrell Performs "American Dreaming" On 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' [Watch]

Sierra Ferrell appeared before a national TV audience last week as a featured performer on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The performance was recorded at Thalia Hall rather than New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater, where the late-night talk show is taped.

After making her national television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year with a rendition of Trail of Flowers track “Fox Hunt”, Ferrell returned to the small screen to perform “American Dreaming”, another tune from her March 2024 LP. Dressed in a dazzling silver sparkle jumpsuit and star-spangled crown, she shined upon the stage alongside her band, comprised of Oliver Bates Craven (electric guitar), Joshua Rilko (acoustic guitar), Geoff Saunders (bass guitar), and Matthew Meyer (drums).

Of note, the name of the track is reminiscent of Stephen Colbert‘s signature Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, “Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream,” though it’s unclear if the song choice was an intentional nod to the show’s host.
