Slash and Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators brought their River Is Rising tour to Inglewood, CA’s YouTube Theater on Friday night.
The tour comes in support of 4, a new collaborative album that arrived on February 11th via BMG. After kicking off in Portland, OR on the 8th, Slash and Myles Kennedy worked through Seattle, WA (2/8) and several California dates before arriving in Inglewood on the 18th. The band performed several songs off the new album throughout the evening, including “The River Is Rising”, “Whatever Gets You By”, “Actions Speak Louder Than Words”, “Fill My World”, and “Call Off The Dogs”.
While Slash and Myles Kennedy didn’t perform any songs from the Guns N’ Roses catalog, they did break into several tasteful covers. Midway through the 20-song set came a cover of Lenny Kravitz‘s “Always on the Run”, which originally appeared on his 1991 album, Mama Said. In addition to breaking out a couple of tracks from Slash’s solo catalog, including “Nothing To Say” and “Back From Cali”, the show saw a cover of Elton John‘s “Rocket Man”.
