Saturday Night Live (SNL) has announced the initial slate of musical guests set to appear on the beloved live sketch comedy show’s 50th season including Chappell Roan, Jelly Roll, Stevie Nicks, Coldplay, and Billie Eilish.

SNL season 50 will begin with host Jean Smart, who just won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on Hacks season three, and musical guest Jelly Roll, the rapper-turned-country star whose popularity has skyrocketed in the last year. Stand-up comic Nate Bargatze will return for his second stint as host on October 5th while Coldplay handles musical guest duties.

On October 12th, pop star-turned-actress Ariana Grande will return to the show as a host, rather than a musical guest, as she continues to support her role in the upcoming Wicked film while legendary singer and Fleetwood Mac member Stevie Nicks will perform as the episode’s musical entertainment. The following week, on October 9th, Michael Keaton—or should we say Michael Douglas—will host with ASMR-pop superstar Billie Eilish on tap to perform.

Rounding out the initial slate of hosts and performers is a November 2nd episode hosted by SNL veteran John Mulaney featuring a performance by “your favorite artist’s favorite artist,” Chappell Roan. Arguably the music industry’s biggest breakout star of the year, Roan has soared to success behind her late-blooming 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and buzzed-about festival appearances at CoachellaGovernors Ball, BonnarooLollapalooza, and more and just took home Best New Artist honors at the 2024 Video Music Awards.
