[UPDATE 9/26/24]: Foo Fighters announced on Thursday that they will not be performing at this coming weekend’s Soundside Music Festival as originally planned. The now-canceled headlining slot at the Bridgeport, CT music festival on Sunday was due to mark the band’s first live show since frontman Dave Grohl revealed in early September that he had fathered a daughter outside of his marriage.

In a note posted to the Foo Fighters social media accounts, the band notes, “Foo Fighters will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information. Comments on the post have been disabled. In a separate post, the festival announced that both Jack White and Greta Van Fleet have been added to its Sunday lineup to offset the absence of Foo Fighters.

The initial lineup for September 29th at Soundside Music Festival was also initially due to include Queens of the Stone Age, who last month canceled all of their remaining 2024 tour dates as frontman Josh Homme received emergency surgery. Bleachers were added to the lineup as a replacement.

Of note, Jack White earlier this year subbed in for Queens of the Stone Age on a run of European festival dates when Homme’s medical situation forced the band to back out.

[5/14/24]: The festival formerly known as Sound On Sound will return to Bridgeport, CT’s Seaside Park on September 28th and 29th, 2024 with a new name, Soundside Music Festival, and a high-profile lineup lead by headliners Foo Fighters and Noah Kahan.

The festival will begin on Saturday, September 28th with a top-billed set by Kahan, the Grammy-nominated New England native, in addition to performances by Goo Goo Dolls, Fleet Foxes, Boyz II Men, Grace Potter, Thee Sacred Souls, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories, Madi Diaz, and Rijah. On Sunday, September 29th, Foo Fighters will round out the weekend at Soundside Music Festival 2024 following sets by Queens of the Stone Age, Norah Jones, Teddy Swims, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Kills, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, The War and Treaty, Hurray For The Riff Raff, and Darren Kiely.

Produced by C3 Presents (Austin City Limits Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Sea.Hear.Now, Gov Ball, more), the newly re-branded Soundside Music Festival will expand upon the Sound On Sound 2023 experience and feel with its unique rotating, single-stage setup alongside gourmet food options from some of Connecticut and the surrounding area’s best establishments including PopUp Bagels, The Gotham Burger Social Club, Grumpy Dumpling Co., 29 Markle Ct, The Blind Rhino, and Walter’s Hot Dogs in addition to a curated selection of cocktails and craft beer and wine options. The complete food and beverage lineup will be announced at a later date.

Fans can sign up now for the SMS pre-sale taking place this Thursday, May 16th from 10:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. ET to lock in their tickets at the lowest price possible. Sign up for a pre-sale passcode to secure your spot at Soundside Music Festival. Remaining ticket inventory will go on sale at an increased rate beginning on May 16th at 12:00 p.m. Ticket offerings include General Admission, GA+, VIP, and Skydeck. All ticket types offer 1-Day and 2-Day options. Parking will also be available for purchase. Layaway plans are available on all ticket types starting at $25 down.
