Spafford continued its winter tour with new keyboardist Cory Schechtman at Brooklyn Bowl on Friday night. The performance, which featured an opening set by local favorite Escaper, marked the Arizona jam quartet’s first Brooklyn Bowl show since before the pandemic.

The quartet opened a new chapter at the Bowl with a thrilling trio of tried-and-true jam vehicles—”The Remedy”, “Leave The Light On”, and “The Postman”—that swallowed up the show’s first 40 minutes. With Schechtman’s ample synth abilities on full display throughout, the opening segment served as a statement of intent for the new-look outfit. Later, Spafford continued to reintroduce itself with the debut of a new original song, “Shelter In Place”.
