Ladies and gentlemen, fire up those smartphone apps. Music streaming service Spotify announced a dynamic partnership with Uber, the San-Francisco based rideshare app. The service launches on November 21st in ten cities, including New York City, Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, & more.

As Pitchfork explains, here’s how it works. Premium service Spotify customers can sync up through their Uber app to request a Spotify enabled car. Once the car arrives, the Spotify/Uber subscriber will be able to access their account and playlists as well as a few Uber curated playlists. Customers will be able to sit back, play DJ, listen to their favorite tunes, and enjoy the ride.

Even artists are excited about the partnership. Well known acts such as Andrew W.K, Diplo, and Matt and Kim will be participating in live sessions and ride alongs during launch day. This technological collaboration is groundbreaking for music streaming and could be the start of a whole new way to create live music. Imagine live sessions from the back seat of your ride from point A to B! Keep an eye out for more developments on this collaboration, it’s the start of a beautiful friendship.
