Some of the most beloved performers in American music will take the stage to pay tribute to Motown Records next week, as the legendary record label celebrated 60 years of pumping out hits last month.
Comedian Cedric the Entertainer and singer Smokey Robinson will team up to host the upcoming Motown 60: A GRAMMY Celebration, which will take place this coming Tuesday, February 12th, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The concert event will feature performances from some of Motown’s most legendary recording artists including Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Martha Reeves, and Boyz II Men, in addition to Ciara, John Legend, Fantasia, Brian & Eddie Holland, Thelma Houston, Tori Kelly, Little Big Town, NE-YO, Pentatonix, Valerie Simpson, Mickey Stevenson, and Meghan Trainor.
The Motown tribute event next week follows the upcoming Grammy Awards, which take place on Sunday night at Los Angeles’ Staples Center. This year’s televised awards ceremony will be hosted by Alicia Keys.

Founded in January 1959 by Berry Gordy Jr., Motown would help introduce the world to artists and groups including The Miracles, the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops, the Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Martha and the Vandellas, just to name a few. In 1963, the label also released an album titled, The Great March on Washington, featuring an emerging Reverend by the name of Martin Luther King.
The all-star concert event in tribute to Motown will be taped, and is set to air on CBS on April 21st.
