Sting will head out on the road with a new band this fall for the Sting 3.0 tour. For the intimate run of North American theaters, the former frontman for one of the most famous power trios in rock, The Police, will perform in a new trio featuring his longtime guitar collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers).

The Sting 3.0 tour will kick off with a two-night stay at The Fillmore Detroit on September 17th and 18th. For this tour, the 17-time Grammy winner has opted mostly for multiple-night engagements at famed theaters across North America, including Massey Hall in Toronto (9/20, 9/21), The Met in Philadelphia (9/30, 10/1), Brooklyn Paramount in New York (107, 10/9, 10/10), The Masonic in San Francisco (11/6, 11/7), and more before wrapping at The Wiltern in Los Angeles (11/12, 11/13). A press release for the tour promises “a new dynamic era showcasing selections from his vast catalog through the urgent lens of a tight three-piece combo.”

Members of Sting’s Fan Club have access to a special pre-sale now open on his website. Additional pre-sales for Citi and American Express cardmembers will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale on Friday, March 15th at 10 a.m. local time. See below for a detailed list of tour dates.

The Sting 3.0 tour is a far cry from the string of One Night Only co-headlining stadium shows the bassist/vocalist is playing with Billy Joel this year. The two hitmakers began the series last month in Tampa, where they each joined each other’s set for a sit-in: Sting on Joel’s “Big Man on Mulberry Street” and Joel on The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”. The series continues with a show at Petco Park in San Diego on April 13th. For tickets and a full list of tour dates visit Sting’s website.
