For the opening four songs of their single-set performance, The String Cheese Incident welcomed special guests Billy Strings and his bandmates, banjoist Billy Failing, and mandolinist Jarrod Walker. The star-studded cast of musicians kicked things off with “Remington Ride” before moving into a cover of Peter Rowan and Bill Monroe‘s “Walls Of Time”, last played by the band on July 7th, 2017 in Atlanta. Following a fast-paced take on “I Know You Rider”, the collaborative portion of the show came to a close with Strings and company lending a hand on “Rivertrance”.

Moving back into their regular six-piece configuration, The String Cheese moved on with a “Best Feeling” sandwich, which featured a cover of Bob Marley‘s “Exodus” in the middle. The remainder of the show included solid takes on “Smile”, “Into The Blue”, a pairing of “Sirens” into “Close Your Eyes”, and a set-closing “Colorado Bluebird Sky”.

SCI continues its 25th-anniversary tour with three-night runs at Austin, TX’s Stubb’s on October 31st-November 2nd followed by Chicago, IL’s Auditorium Theatre on November 7th-9th. The band will perform their final concerts of 2019 at Denver, CO’s new Mission Ballroom on Friday and Saturday, November 29th and 30th.
