Last Wednesday, prior to their second Capitol Theatre performance, the String Cheese Incident visited SiriusXM Studios JamON program for a live, in-studio interview and performance. The band discussed a number of things from a funny story about good times with a bottle of tequila at Christmas Jam, to the various “Incidents” they have played with other artists, including the Lauren Hill Incident at Electric Forest, in which the band was blown away by Ms. Hill’s musical knowledge and ability to hear the slightest changes in minor and major chords during the rehearsal for their performance together.

The band spoke about their upcoming New Year’s Eve performances at the 1st Band Center in Colorado and how it is nice to be home for the New Year and being around family. SCI discussed the recording process behind their latest effort, Song In My Head, which saw the group work with Jerry Harrison on their first studio album since 2005, and how it was the best album experience they had to date.

After it was pointed out that he hadn’t said much, Michael Travis was asked his thoughts, but gave more of his very own Thought of the Day: “Love is a place, not a feeling.” In between the interview segments, SCI played several songs for a rare in-studio audience at the JamOn headquarters. The performance will is currently being played on SiriusXM’s JamOn station (channel 29). For those of you that do not have SiriusXM, check out the official Jam_ON website, or find them on social media: Twitter and Facebook.
