Last night, The String Cheese Incident continues their dominating West Coast run with a scorching showcase at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA. Opening with “Search,” SCI wasted no time getting down, bringing out a “Missing Me > Dudley’s” combination to get the crowd grooving. The first set saw the band play “Farther,” which hadn’t been played since July 29th, 2007.

The group also played “Stay Through,” which included a segment of Bob Marley’s “Stir It Up.” Watch the brief teaser below:

Later in the set, ALO multi-instrumentalst Zach Gill joined the band for a cover of Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).” It must be ALO week for Cheese, as they played with Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz on “The Harder They Come” two nights earlier. “Song In My Head” and “Beautiful” rounded out the first set.

The second set started out with a rockin’ “Howard” that featured a “Cosmic Love Jam.” Watch “Howard” below, courtesy of Rebecca Gojkovich.

After a great second set that included hits like “Miss Brown’s Teahouse,” “45th of November” and more, the band brought Zach Gill out one last time for an encore version of Bob Dylan’s “Quinn The Eskimo.” The oft-covered song was a well-received finale to an incredible Sunday show from the String Cheese Incident!
