[Update 3/13/25]: Summer Camp Music Festival has updated fans on the status of its planned Memorial Day Weekend 2025 event. While the three-day event at Peoria Riverfront will not take place as intended, the festival’s organizers will host a series of concerts at the venue throughout the summer of 2025 ahead of the previously announced full-scale return of Summer Camp for its 25th edition in 2026.

While Summer Camp Music Festival organizers had previously announced that its rebranded Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie, which launched in 2024, would not return in 2025, the same late-2024 announcement had laid out plans for a three-day, non-camping event over Memorial Day Weekend 2025 featuring “many of the artists you have come to know as part of the Summer Camp family and as always there will be new music you will want to check out as well.”

“Although we gave it our best efforts,” organizers wrote on Thursday of their altered 2025 plans, “a variety of factors such as the state of the music festival industry, artist conflicts, and more did not allow us to put together a Memorial Day event this year that would live up to the Summer Camp Presents brand. At this time, our team is looking ahead to our full return in 2026. As such we will not hold an event over Memorial Day Weekend in 2025 and will instead present a series of shows over the Summer at the Peoria Riverfront as a prequel to the big 25th edition of Summer Camp Music Festival in 2026. Come join us.”

The post also included the initial slate of Summer Camp Presents shows due to take place at the Waterfront in Peoria, IL in 2025 including a TBA show on June 20th, Cake on June 26th, The Infamous Stringdusters and Leftover Salmon with Kitchen Dwellers on July 17th, moe. with Eggy on August 7th, and an additional TBA show on August 15th. [12/21/24]: Summer Camp Music Festival on Friday confirmed that its rebranded Solshine Reverie, which launched in 2024, will not return for a 2025 edition at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL. Instead, the event’s organizers will present a three-day series of shows over Memorial Day Weekend (May 23rd–25th, 2025) featuring “many of the artists you have come to know as part of the Summer Camp family” before Summer Camp Music Festival returns in all its glory to celebrate its 25th edition in 2026.

Summer Camp Music Festival ran for more than two decades dating back to 2001. With moe. and Umphrey’s McGee eventually serving as the event’s host acts, it grew to become one of the most significant events on the Midwest’s music calendar, bringing in notable artists from the worlds of jam, electronic, hip-hop, and more. After its final official edition in 2023, the festival announced that it would go on hiatus in 2024 in favor of a “redefined” format in 2024. That “new” event, Solshine Reverie, didn’t stray far from Summer Camp’s established model, bringing acts like moe., Umphrey’s, GooseThe String Cheese IncidentJohn Summit, Big Giganticdeadmau5lespecialEggyMihali, The Werks, and more to Three Sisters Park for three days of music over Memorial Day Weekend.

“We know you all have been waiting for word of this year’s festival, and we have some good news,” Summer Camp/Solshine Reverie organizers Jay Goldberg Entertainment & Events wrote in a post. “We will indeed be hosting an event in 2025. However, with the difficult economic factors continuing to impact the festival market in various ways we have elected to make some changes which we are happy to share with you now.”

The post continued, “First, Solshine Reverie will not be making a return to Three Sisters Park this year. We were thrilled with the reception that everyone who joined us last year gave and we are happy that you found the event to be as inspiring as we did. The vibe and energy exerted by everyone who took part in it was overwhelming, and just plain incredible. So we thank you. We are happy to say that we have great plans for the future with this event which we can’t wait to share with you.”

Organizers continued, “Second, Summer Camp will present a three day series of shows on the Peoria Riverfront over Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-25, 2025 which will include many of the artists you have come to know as part of the Summer Camp family and as always there will be new music you will want to check out as well. This will not be a camping festival in true Summer Camp tradition, but will be centrally [focused] on the music. There will be three day passes available and there are several major hotels within walking distance of the venue, and many more throughout Peoria. If you are traveling to join us, accommodations will be easy to make. A full announcement of these events will be announced shortly after the New Year.”

“Finally, and most importantly,” the post added, “we are excited to share that Summer Camp Music Festival will be making a return to celebrate its 25th edition on May 22-24, 2026. Mark your calendars… We look forward to welcoming you all back home!!”
